ANOTHER WOMEN?S BOXING TITLE FOR THE PHILIPPINES

One week after undefeated Gretchen ?Chen Chen? Abaniel put on a classic display of boxing to score a lopsided unanimous ten round decision over rugged and gutsy Thai Lilly Srachaprachagym to win the WBC International women?s minimum weight title, her stable-mates clashed for the WIBA Women?s International Boxing Association light flyweight title at the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Paranaque.
Undefeated Geremie Tabastabas won the vacant title with a unanimous eight round decision over Jujeath Nagawa. Just like the very promising Abaniel who even impressed former world super bantamweight champion Oscar Larios who watched the fights,
both Tabstabas and Nagawa are managed and trained by former Australian boxer Terrance Mogg.
With her victory in the Youth version of the WIBA, Tabastabas improved her record to 3-0 while Nagawa, a lady boxer from Baguio City with Japanese links, dropped to 1-2. It was Nagawa?s second loss to Tabastabas having dropped a unanimous four round decision last April 29.
