JACK ASIS MEETS HIS IDOL MANNY PACQUIAO
PhilBoxing.com Wed, 26 Apr 2017

JACK ASIS WOUND BACK THE CLOCK AND MET HIS ONE TIME SPARRING PARTNER and idol boxing legend Manny Pacquiao in Brisbane today. Asis was invited to re-unite with his fellow country man at the launch of his upcoming bout with Australian Jeff Horn.
"Today very special to me," Asis said.
"Many years ago we spar together in gym in the Phillipines and like all Filipinos Manny Pacquaio is my idol.
"He inspire me to be a boxer."
Asis presented Pacquiao with a special glove painted by Toowoomba aboriginal artist Daniel Blades. The glove designed by Blades symbolised Pacquiao as a warrior, a leader, it incorporated his visit to Australia with a kangaroo and defined Jack Asis' journey to once again cross paths with Pacquaio.
"This glove very special and I'm very appreciative of Daniel Blades painting this glove for me to give to Manny," Asis said.
The meeting was the perfect motivational boost for Asis, who jets out of Toowoomba on Friday to head to China to face Xu Can in a World title eliminator on May 7.
"This very inspirational to me," Asis said.
"I have big fight in China and meeting Manny has only made me hungrier for victory.
"Manny is a World champion and I want to be a World champion again."
Asis and his trainer manager Brendon Smith also had the opportunity to chat with Pacquiao's promoter the legendary Bob Arum.
