BRENT MOORE TRAVELS TO BRISBANE THIS WEEKEND TO TAKE ON REUBEN AIONO

Moore.

BRENT MOORE WILL BE CHASING HIS FIRST WIN OF 2017 when he travels to Brisbane on Saturday to take on Reuben Aiono in a six round middle weight bout.

Moore is on the quick back up after a narrow split decision loss to Isaac Buckley in Dee Why in late February.

"This is a big opportunity for me and I intend on taking it with both hands," Moore said.

"I was happy with my performance at Dee Why against Isaac Buckley, but unfortunately in his home town I was on the wrong end of a split decision loss.

"That's boxing, you move on.

"That fight has proven to be a perfect stepping stone to this bout with Reuben Aiono.

"Fitness won't be a problem so I'm ready for a strong six rounds.

"Special thanks to my Brendon Smith and Coran Kanoveilomani for getting me ready for this one."

Moore started his career with a bang scoring two big TKO victories but since then has been on the end of a number of extremely close losses - now he has the chance to make amends.

"In this one hopefully I can take it out of the judges hands," Moore said.

"Whether that's by stoppage or by dominating the rounds I need to leave no doubt in the judges minds.

"Particularly fighting in front of his home crowd I need to take control.

"I've had great sparring for this one from all my team mates at Smithy's TGW Gym and I believe that should hold me in good stead for this bout."

Moore's Assistant trainer Corban Kanoveilmani added : "Brent is a fighter who really deserves a victory.

"However what you deserve and what you get in the sport of boxing can often be too very different things so it's important Brent goes out there on Saturday night and controls what he can control.

"I'm confident if Brent boxes to his ability and fights to his strengths he will be hard to beat.

"Reuben Aiono is a good fighter, he's recorded four wins, one loss and one draw in a six bout career and he has knock out power winning two of his fights by stoppage.

"We respect Reuben and know he will bring plenty to the table, but we are concentrating purely on ourselves and our sole focus is on Brent and Brent performing to the best of his ability.

"If Brent performs to the best of the his ability, that's all we can ask - the rest is out of our control."
