NBA -- Griffin's 29 vaults Clips past Warriors

The Los Angeles Clippers showed some of the might that makes them once again a powerhouse contender in the Western Conference in this upcoming season.
Blake Griffin led the scoring parade with 29 points as the Clips easily handled the defending champions Golden State Warriors, 130-95, on Tuesday night at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Austin Rivers finished with 16 while J.J. Redick had 15. Josh Smith and Jamaal Crawford each had 13 as the Clips shot a whopping 54.7 percent from the field (45 of 82 shots made). The Clips also converted 9-of-21 from long distance and 31-of-43 from the free throw line.
Reigning MVP Steph Curry sat out the contest alongside NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala, but Klay Thompson, the other half of the Warriors' vaunted Splash Brothers, suited up to lead Golden State with 21 points.
Leandro Barbosa chipped in 11 while Shaun Livingston added 11 points and four assists for the Clippers, who led 31-20 after one quarter and 67-43 at the half.
Golden State dropped to 2-4 while the Clippers improved to 2-3.
