NBA -- Steadier Wizards hold off Heat, 105-103
By Roman David Garay PhilBoxing.com Sat, 20 Dec 2014

MIAMI -- The Washington Wizards came up with clutch plays late to beat the Miami Heat, 105-103, on Friday night at the American Airlines Arena.
John Wall drilled a two-pointer that gave the Wiz a four-point lead in the final 61 seconds and Bradley Beal intercepted a Dwyane Wade pass with 3.8 ticks to go to seal the deal. Wall finished with 20 and 10 assists while Beal had 16.
The Heat enjoyed an eight-point third quarter lead and hung on to a 91-86 edge with 6:13 left in the fourth quarter. They just couldn't hold on and lost their ninth game in 14 tries at home.
"That's tough to lose that at the end. It came down to they made more plays," Heat head coach Erick Spoelstra told the Miami Herald after his team dropped their second in a row and fell to 12-15 in the overall East standings..
Wade led Miami's determined home stand with 28 points, but he missed 14 of 26 field goals. Luol Deng added 19 points and five rebounds and Mario Chalmers pitched in 14 and five assists. Udonis Haslem contributed 11.
It was the Wizards' sixth straight win and 11th victory in 12 games, allowing the Washington franchise to move up to second place in the Eastern Conference with a 19-6 slate, a mere one game behind the pace-setting 21-6 Toronto Raptors. (RDG)
