World Boxing Council Joins the Humanitarian Aid Relief for Earthquake Victims in Venezuela By Gabriel F. Cordero PhilBoxing.com Wed, 01 Jul 2026 ![]() The World Boxing Council makes a solidarity call to the international boxing community and all of Latin American society to unite in support of the families affected by the devastating earthquake that has struck Venezuela. True to its commitment to serve beyond the sport, the WBC backs the humanitarian efforts underway to rescue victims and help those most in need, while seeking to guide those who wish to help in the most practical and effective way. Emergency response specialists, such as the Red Cross and UNICEF, agree that financial donations represent, whenever possible, the most efficient way to provide support. They allow for the direct purchase of supplies in the affected areas, reduce transportation costs and times, respond to the actual needs of each community, and streamline the distribution of aid. Therefore, the WBC invites individuals to make donations through organizations with extensive international experience, such as Cruz Roja Mexicana, UNICEF México, Cáritas Venezuela, Save the Children y Médicos Sin Fronteras, institutions that possess the proper infrastructure and mechanisms to channel aid quickly and transparently. For those who prefer to donate physical goods, the World Boxing Council also supports collection centers operating with the necessary logistics to deliver aid to Venezuela. Today, our Venezuelan brothers and sisters need everyone’s support. Every donation, no matter its size, can represent hope for those going through extremely difficult times,” expressed WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán. The World Boxing Council invites champions, promoters, gyms, commissions, fans, and the entire boxing family to join this cause, reminding everyone that solidarity knows no borders and that together we can make a difference in the lives of thousands of people.
