ORACLE ARENA -- Relying heavily on the hot hands of Brandon Jennings, the Milwaukee Bucks scored a huge road victory Saturday night by beating the Golden State Warriors, 103-93, at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.
Jennings, a 6-foot-1 guard blessed with blazing speed, ran away with 31 points and 10 assists to frustrate the Warriors. He highlighted his performance by making six triples while grabbing three rebounds and one steal. Making matters worse for Golden State was former Warrior Monta Ellis, who finished with 26 points, five rebounds and five assists.
The Warriors backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 34 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds, which just fell short of the incredible production of Milwaukee's 1-2 punch of Jennings and Ellis. Milwaukee made 38 of 78 shots and 13 of 28 threes. The Bucks also had eight more assists at 29.
With the win, the 31-29 Bucks kept a firm hold of the 8th and final playoffs spot in the Eastern Conference, 8 1/2 games ahead of the 24-39 Toronto Raptors.
At 31-29, Golden State remains No.6 in the Western Conference, just one game ahead of the 34-30 Houston Rockets, who are currently at No. 7.(JSM)
