EL TERRIBLE: I AM READY TO BE WORLD CHAMPION AGAIN By Hesiquio Balderas PhilBoxing.com Sun, 31 Jan 2010  After months of speculation about whether Erik Morales would ever fight again, and what would be the proper weight for him, "El Terrible" from Tijuana confirm the news and made it official. Erik will return in the hot welterweight division where the formidable Manny Pacquiao is the WBO welterweight champion, Shane Mosley is the WBA champion, and Floyd Mayweather jr is also a star. "I know what I want to accomplish in boxing and I want to fight, it's not for the money because I am well financially, it's because I really want to do it, I want to win that fourth title in a different division and be the first Mexican to do it. Boxing is my life and i feel very happy," Morales told the Mexican newspaper Record. "I have been working hard. The truth is that it is difficult to get back in shape after a long lay off, but I needed that rest because after fighting for so many years with the best fighters in the world I was tired, but know I am ready to be world champion again, I want to comeback and I will do it with my promotional company Box Latino. Like I said I've been in the gym for many months now and when I present myself to the media you will see that I am in great shape." Erik also mentioned that he may fight for a regional or international title against former champion Jos? Alfaro the fight may take place at 142 pounds.
