ZOU AND KIMURA MAKE WEIGHT By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Thu, 27 Jul 2017 ![]() SHANGHAI, CHINA ? The WBO world flyweight title fight between defending champion Zou Shiming of China and Sho Kimura of Japan is on. Both boxers easily made the division limit during the official weigh-in held Thursday, with Zou at 111.9 lbs while Kimura was at 111.5 lbs. The fight will be held July 28 at the Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai. This will be the first title defense of Zou, who won the title by unanimous decision against Thai boxer Prasitsak Phaprom in Las Vegas on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao- Jessie Vargas WBO welterweight title fight. Shiming will have Yober Ortega as his cornerman. Kimura is the WBO Asia- Pacific title-holder and currently ranked number six by the WBO. Atty. Danrex Tapdasan of the Philippines will be the third man in the ring. The judges are Robert Hoyle (USA), Edward Ligas (Philippines) and Sawaeng Thaweekoon (Thailand). The undercards will also feature Chinese boxers against foreign fighters- Dong Chaoqun ? 160lbs vs Sunil Khokhar (India) ? 159 lbs, Amingbuhe 140lbs vs Bima Prakosa (Indonesia) ? 140 lbs, Yan Jie ? 160 lbs vs Joe Corner (Australia) ? 160 lbs, Sun Bohao ? 121 lbs vs Thirayut Sithsaithong (Thailand) ? 121.5lbs and Chen Zubiao ? 114lbs vs Anuj Singh (India) ? 116lbs . The weigh-in was held at the Intercontinental Hotel and supervised by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) of China. The WBO title bout will be supervised by WBO Asia Pacific VP Leon Panoncillo.
