RESULTS FROM THE VALLEY FIGHT NIGHT (PHOTOS) By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Sun, 15 May 2016 Studio City, CA: Top Rank and Bash Boxing held a fight card tonight at the historic Sportsman?s Lodge in this City. The event was held in cooperation of Tecate and UnimasTV and shown on a delayed basis on Solo Boxeo Tecate. In the main event, Robert Garcia trained, Saul ?Nemo? Rodriguez of Riverside CA (19-0-1, 14 KO) was taken into the deep waters by the veteran Daulis Prescott of Baranquilla, Columbia (30-4-0, 23KO). Rodriguez however was impressive responding beautifully to Garcia?s instructions and keeping Prescott on his toes. The fight was exciting and highlighted by furious exchanges from both fighters. In the seventh round Rodriguez begun asserting himself more and dropped Prescott with a series of killer punches. The end came at 2:37. (top photo) Mexicali heavyweight, Andy Ruiz remained unbeaten scoring a TKO over Rey Austin of Cleveland, Ohio (28-9-4, 18KO). Austin gave up at the end of round 4 due a hand injury suffered in the fight. Other results: Maxim Dadashev of Oxnard, CA (2-0-0,2KO) stopped Rashad Bogar of Newark, NJ (4-9-1, 2KO) Time: 34 seconds round 4. Bryan Flores of Orange County, CA (4-0-0, 1KO) beat Jose Mejia of Palmdale, CA (1-4-0,1KO) via a UD. Scores were all 40-36. Esquiva Falcao of Vitoria, Brazil (14-0-0,10 KO) stayed with a clean record by stopping Paul Valenzuela of Santa Rosalla, MX (8-3-1, 6KO) in round 4. Referee Raul Cais Sr upon advised of the ring doctor stopped the fight at 1:31. Carlos Liconia of Westminster, CA ( 9-0-0, 2KO) won via a wide UD over a very tough Cesar Sustaita of Ciudad Juarez, MX ( 3-3-0, 3KO) Scores were all 60-54. Arnold Barbosa Jr of South El Monte, CA (12-0-0,5KO) kept his record immaculate with a KO win over Johan Nater of Bayamon, PR (14-8-0, 10KO). Barbosa dropped Nater twice in round 1 and then in Round 2 and ended the fight at 49 seconds of the round. Toka Khan Clary of Providence, RI) 19-0-0-1, 12 KO scored a 4th round KO over Orlando Rizo of Managua, Nicaragua. Time 2:32 of round 4.
