NBA -- Warriors move five games closer to history
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Fri, 01 Apr 2016

CHICAGO -- Five games.
That's what it boils down to for the streaking Golden State Warriors who notched win No.68 for the season, a mere five games away from eclipsing the 72-10 record established by Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls during the 1995-96 season.
This latest caper wasn't easy. It needed overtime to get it done. But in the end, the defending champions, thanks to their Splash Brothers, came shining through --- 103-96 -- before a jampacked crowd of 19,911 at the Vivint Smart Home Arena.
The Warriors rallied from 82-74 down in the final 6:18 of regulation. Klay Thomspon hit a 3 with 15 seconds left to send the game into overtime. In the extension period, Steph Curry took over and rattled off six straight points to seal the win.
"They are amazing. Nothing went our way really most of the night. They kept fighting. We always compete, that is the great thing about this team," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told NBA.com.
Curry finished with 31 points, thanks to a 5 for 10 fare from 3-point range. Thompson added 18 while Harrison Barnes accounted for 15 points and 11 boards.
Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 21 points. Rodney Hood kept his hot streak with 20 points plus six rebounds. Derrick Favors added 15 for Utah, which missed 10 of 10 free throws in the final quarter. The Jazz made only 9 of 32 form long distance and 13 of 29 from the free throw stripe overall.
