MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA, LAS VEGAS -- In the semi-main event of the Stiverne vs Wilder heavyweight world championship here tonight, Leo Santa Cruz (29-0-1, 17KO) (C) of Los Angele, CA stopped Jesus Ruiz (35-6-5, 21KO) of Sonora MX in round 8th to keep his WBC super bantamweight title and remained undefeated. Ref Kenny Bayless waive off the fight at 29 seconds of the 8th round after several unanswered punches from Stat Cruz. There were knockdowns.
