RUMBLE IN KANAZAWA: BASADRE TAKES ON JOR CHAIJINDA TODAY FOR WBC YOUTH TITLE By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Sun, 30 Nov 2014 Hard-hitting Filipino Daryl "Flash" Basadre (L) of General Santos City and unbeaten Thai Yodsingdaeng Jor Chaijinda (6-0, 4 KO's) scaled-in at identical 115 lbs., ahead of their clash for the vacant WBC Bantamweight Youth World Title on Sunday November 30 at Sangyo Hall in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. The rumble in Kanazawa is a golden opportunity for both 22-year-old boxers to advance their fighting careers in the bantamweight division, a weight class where the #1 warrior is Japanese Shinsuke Yamanaka (22-0-2, 16 KO's). Basadre (13-1-1, 9 KO's), born in Cagayan de Oro, comes to this war from a non-title unanimous decision win over Davae?o veteran Philip Parcon last September, while Jor Chaijinda - an experienced former Muay Thai combatant - is back in action after demolishing a fellow Thai in less than 3 minutes of boxing last August in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. Last March, Daryl Basadre captured the World Boxing Federation (WBF) international 115-Lbs strap, a victory he achieved by overpowering Julius Alcos in two rounds at Lagao Gym in Gensan. Boxing manager Jim Claude Manangquil of Sanman Promotions is in Kanazawa assisting Basadre in his tough assignment in Japan. "Basadre is in good shape," assures Manangquil. "This important fight (against the Thai Jor Chaijinda) is a winnable battle." The Basadre vs Jor Chaijinda fight for the WBC Youth World Bantamweight belt is a production of Japanese promoter Naoyuki Kashimi, owner of Kashimi Boxing Gym.
