MANIATIS FIGHTER MICHAEL ZERAFA IN WBO WORLD YOUTH TITLE FIGHT
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Wed, 24 Sep 2014
 Zerafa (L).
Undefeated Austalian middleweight Michael ?Pretty Boy? Zerafa who is handled by well known Australian promoter and manager Peter Maniatis will face Russia?s Arif Magomedov who is also unbeaten for the WBO World Youth title and the WBO Asia Pacific title in Moscow on October 24.
The 22 year old Zerafa who has a record of 15-0 with 7 knockouts is coming off an 8th round unanimous decision win over Joe ?Sugar? Rea of Ireland last June 27 while Magomedov who is also 22 has a record of 12-0 with 8 knockouts.
The Russian won the vacant WBA Intercontinental middleweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Patrick Mendy of the United Kingdom last August 9.
Zerafa defeated Filipino Rey Anton Olarte in a ten round bout on June 7, 2013 which was voted ?Fight of the Year? in Victoria, with Zerafa winning a close decision despite being dropped in the 3rd round by Olarte who fights out of Australia.
Maniatis told the Manila Standard/Viva Sports that Zerafa is a ?flashy boxer? and his fight against Magomedov will be on the undercard of the heavyweight clash between Russia?s Alexander Povetkin and Carlos Takam of France.
Maniatis said he would leave for Moscow with Zerafa and his trainer Joe Nader on October 18 which will give them six days to overcome a 22 hour flight.
There will be a decisive change in the weather where its heading into summer in Melbourne, Australia while ?it will be freezing cold? even as Maniatis praised the Russian promoter for their being booked into the five-star Marriot Hotel along with the team of Carlos Takam.
Maniatis said the promoter ?has been very professional.?
