Baricuatro wins, Veloso falters in SEAG boxing

JAY Bryan Baricuatro [48kg] of the PH men’s boxing team beat Linh Phung Nguyen of Vietnam, 5-0 today in Day 2 of the 33rd SEA Games at the Chulalongkorn University Sports Center 4 Floor in Bangkok.
The 20-year-old Baricuatro was a silver medalist in the recently held World Boxing Cup in Kazakhstan.
Claudine “The Velocity” Veloso, however, lost to Kim Anh Vo Thi of Vietnam, 0-5 in the women’s 54kg in the quarter finals.
Three more PH fighters will see action tomorrow.
Mark Ashley Fajardo, who won last December 10 against Vietnam’s Duc Ngoc Nguyen, 5-0, will face Jerri Riwu of Indonesia in the men’s 69kg quarterfinals.
Junmilardo “The Turbo Ritro” Ogayre will fight Sakda Ruantham of Thailand in the men’s 60kg. quarterfinals while Hergie Bacyadan will collide against Baison Manikon of Thailand in the women’s 70kg semifinals.
