The Spurs were still without top player Victor Wembanyama, who is still nursing a calf injury.

He shot a very efficient 10-for-14 (71.4%) from the field, including 3-for-6 (50%) from the rainbow territory. DeAaron Fox added 20 markers, 4 boards, 3 dimes, and 2 steals.

Keldon Johnson, Harrison Barnes, and Julian Champagnie also contributed 17, 16, and 16, respectively for the Spurs.

Luka Doncic led all scorers with 35 points, while Marcus Smart chipped in 26 off-the-bench for Los Angeles. LeBron James had a huge double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds, to go along with 8 assists and 3 blocks for the Lakers, who have been eliminated from the NBA Cup tournament.
