Jeremy Marticio wins IIEE SIKAT, ICFF won PTC World Engineering Opening

Jeremy Marticio stamped his class in the 3rd edition of IIEE Single Individual Knockout Armageddon Tournament held at IIEE Cubao last December 12, 2026. Jeremy defeated IIEE Saudi Joel Corpuz (2-0), his sister Jersey (2-0) and need extra game versus Jeffrey Vegas (2-1) who place 1st runner up. IM Jose Efren Bagamasbad top the lower bracket for 2nd runner up honor by beating IIEE Metro Central Dion Urbina and Andrew Elpedes. Previous SIKAT winners Jersey (1st edition) and Ronald Donasco (2nd edition) faltered in this 3rd edition. Other participants are Val and Jericho Marticio, Giovanni Celestino and Ryan Quintana.
Meanwhile, the pre-tournament of PTC World Engineering Day chess commences with SMEP International Chess Friends Federation (ICFF) won the 8-team battle arena in the lichess led by Rommel Valdez from Bicol. Other teams who will play online every Friday until the face to face team battle on March 7, 2026 are GEP Faeldonia Phils, PIChE Mapua, IIEE Singapore, Faeldolnia, PSME, PICE FCPL-Qatar, IECEP and SAEP GMG.-Marlon Bernardino-
