NBA -- Bulls trounce Pacers behind D-Rose's 32 points By Jeremy Zuniga PhilBoxing.com Sun, 20 Oct 2013 CHICAGO -- In a game that had the feel of playoffs brawl, the Chicago Bulls outlasted the tough Indana Pacers, 103-98, Friday night at the United Center. The comebacking Derrick Rose led the charge with 32 points in only 31 minutes of action while Luol Deng chipped in an efficient 22 points in 25 minutes. Trailing 50-43 at the break, the Bulls unleashed a 34-point third quarter and outscored the Pacers 25-23 in the final 12 minutes to keep their unbeaten preseason slate alive at 5-0. Indiana launched a balanced offensive assault with four players scoring in double figures. All-Star Paul George led the way with 22 points on 8-for-15 shooting. Center Roy Hibbert had 18 points and six rebounds and David West added 17 markers. After watching his team lag for most of the opening half, Rose carried the Bulls with eight points in the final three minutes. The inability to hit crucial free throws helped seal the Pacers' doom. This game did not have the feel of a regular preseason game. The 21,783 fans in attendance roared as the teams battled through 11 lead changes and seven ties. Starters from both teams played unusually extended minutes and stayed on the floor down the stretch. Injuries were prevalent on both sidelines. Jimmy Butler remained out with a left knee contusion while All-Star center Joakim Noah sat out with a strained groin. The Bulls also lost Kirk Hinrich late in the game to an apparent head injury. The Pacers played the remainder of the game without Danny Granger as he appeared to aggravate a nagging left calf injury. He left in the 3rd quarter and did not return to action.
