'DULJOMAN' INTERVIEWS FREDDIE ROACH By Anthony 'Duljoman' Andales PhilBoxing.com Thu, 04 Jan 2007 What follows here is the full transcript of Duljoman's interview with the highly-respected trainer Freddie Roach: Duljoman: When are you going to the Philippines for the Beer Commercial? Freddie Roach: I just got a phone that they moved it to a later date. Duljoman: As a whole, is it bad for Team Pacquiao to be promoted with Bob Arum's Top Rank taking into account your vocal criticism and dislike of Michael "Sleeping At The Floor Leech" Koncz? FR: Well, Manny is a grown-up man, he makes his own decision... Me, I'll stay as a trainer, that's my work... He decides to be promoted by Top Rank, so be it, I can?t do nothing about that... and that guy Koncz, he knows nothing about boxing, he visits my gym one time and I let him in, and he makes his way through to Manny, and the rest is history... I just don't like him talking Manny about boxing and about this promotional thing coz he knows nothing about boxing... I don?t know who he really is... Duljoman: Your chance of training Oscar dela Hoya? FR: There's no way I can train him... we talked several times, but it's just no way for me to train him... like I have no time at all... it's impossible, I have to give up almost everybody if I have to train him, coz I know I'm gonna be exclusive for him and I just can't do that... Duljoman: What if you will be offered more money to train Oscar? FR: I'm a very loyal person Duljoman, Manny inspires me a lot, and I love working with him... He brings life to my gym, and inspires everybody... money can't make me leave Manny. Duljoman: How about Valero winning in a very convincing fashion on his first defense? FR: Did he win?... Ahhh he's a good puncher, and I like Manny to fight him soon, good for the fans... it's gonna be a good one... Duljoman: Your thoughts about the World Cup in Cebu ? FR: I have two words for you Duljo Anthony, "VERY INTERESTING!!!"... Duljoman: How can you accommodate everybody (Boom2x, Geronimo Penalosa, etc...) if Manny fights in March at Macau ? FR: I dont think Manny will fight in March... Manny's next fight will be in April, that's what he wants... Duljoman: I quoted Floyd Mayweather Sr on Boxing Confidential he said "YOU CAN'T TEACH NOTHING, WHEN YOU DONT KNOW NOTHING"... this is about the possibilty of you training the Golden Boy... FR: Let him talk and we listen and then we?ll learn... Duljoman: Have you ever visited mannypacquiao.ph or the PacLand? FR: Whew! Honestly I dont have a computer Anthony... Thats why I thank you for giving me the news about Valero winning on the first round... but I heard about it, because those guys in the gym, they like Manny and I heard them talking about Manny's website.
