Explosive battle expected for Mexico Guerreros vs. British Lionhearts

PhilBoxing.com

Lausanne, Switzerland, 27 March 2013 - The Foro Polanco of Mexico City will be the theatre of one of the most anticipated return leg of these World Series of Boxing (WSB) quarter-finals, this Friday 29 March (21:00 local time). Despite the 4-1 success of the GB Franchise last Friday, the Mexicans are full of hopes and have lined-up their best weapons to reach the semi-finals.

Still unbeaten this season and second best Bantamweight (50-54 kg) so far, Elias Emigdio will be opening the evening with the hard task to bring a first point to the Mexican team. He will face Welshman Sean McGoldrick which is showing a 3-1 record for his first WSB season. "I feel great and ready for this fight", told us Emigdio. "As the season goes forward, I feel stronger, faster and better. Every bout is a personal challenge and I will give everything in the ring." McGoldrick is taller than his opponent and will certainly try to use this to his advantage. The Lionhearts stated "I feel fit and strong. I am excited about this fight as Emigdio is one of the best boxer in WSB."

Another WSB veteran, Juan Romero will then lock horns with Samuel Maxwell at Lightweight (57-61 kg). Even if Maxwell has suffered from three losses in his maiden WSB season, they came from super class fighters such as Vasyl Lomachenko and David Oliver Joyce. Knowing that not so long ago, the Brit had defeated Russian star Albert Selimov on the occasion of the AIBA European Olympic Qualifying Event, he will be a dangerous opponent for Romero.

19-year-old Middleweight (68-73kg) Marvin Cabrera is relishing the prospect of battling out with British Lionhearts' Kaupo Arro. The Estonian has only won one bout this season when Cabrera has won four, including against Russia Aleksandr Ivanov. The Mexican warrior is high on confidence and hungry to bring a victory in front of his home crowd.

Following on four successes this season, Light Heavyweight (80-85 kg) Isaac Mu?oz will meet Lionhearts' Babacar Kamara. Despite his good record, Mu?oz has still not met a top class opponent. Kamara however fought against big names such as Hrvoje Sep and Oleksandr Gvozdyk, giving him a considerable amount of experience. If he manage to improve his speed, he has a real chance to beat the Mexican.

The fight of the night is expected to be the Heavyweight (91+ kg) showdown between Guerreros' Gerardo Miguel Bisbal and young but fearless Uaine Fa. Puerto Rico Bisbal - bronze medallist at AIBA American Olympic Qualifying Event - will be the only foreigner in the Mexican line-up. He has won four fights this season. Fa's record might state three losses in Season III but those came against 2011 WSB Individual Champion Clemente Russo and 2012 Olympic gold medallist Oleksandr Usyk. An exciting fight is here guaranteed.

In case of a draw on aggregate, this match will be decided by a Heavyweight (91+kg) tiebreaker between Francisco Ortega and Lawrence Osueke.
