PLDT-ABAP NATIONAL BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS SEMIFINAL RESULTS

MAASIN CITY - The longest day of the PLDT-ABAP National Boxing Championships was the fourth day of competition which saw 33 semi-final bouts yesterday. All winners advanced to the finals today which include the awarding and closing ceremony at the Maasin City Gym.

In the Junior Boys' category, Mario Bautista of Himamaylan won on points over Jeronil Borres of Misamis Oriental. Jeffrey Estella of Mandaue prevailed over Aldrin Signar of Tayabas. John Patrick Dinolan of Davao del Norte (DDN) out pointed Mario Jaga of Bago. Michael John Bahena of Davao del Norte won by referee stopped contest (RSC) over Reymart Gaballo of Genaral Santos.

Kenneth Paul Gentalla of Tagbilaran was victorious over Adrian Tambanilo of Bago. Levawil Savines of Bago triumphed over Jeric Ferrer of Tayabas. Presco Carcosia of MisOr defeated Michael Javier of GenSan. Angelou Plania of GenSan outscored Jopher Montano of Bago. Marquil Salvana of MisOr topped Joe Tejones of Camiguin.

In the Junior Girls' category, Alexcel Dargantes of GenSan out hustled Ma. Lourdes Taboso of Leyte. Liezl Mae Alde of GenSan outgunned Airene Pamisa of MisOr. Ruby Nicanor of Maasin City outwitted Judith Balangasay of Northern Samar.

In the Youth Boys' category, Gabriel Rabicycle of DDN decisioned Jayson Amper of Cabadbaran. Isagani Liaban of MisOr outshined Arjon Oro of Bago. Regel Lou Alde of GenSan was awarded a walkover. Aldren Moreno of Pacman Sarangani outsmarted Leonard Bulacan of Mati. Rodel Piala of Cebu conquered Jusua Sambajon of Northern Samar.

Argie Alabado of Bago Raffy Zamora of Pacman Sarangani. Jeson Umbal of Camiguin whipped Vergel Deguma GenSan. Jerson Labrada of MisOr Melvin drubbed Jakaran of Zambales. Maruelo Aballe of DDN romped Juniel Dapidran of Pacman Sarangani. James Palicte of Bago blowed out Eleno Traya of Mandaue.

In the Youth Girls' category, Beverly Casero of MisOr retired Anjanette Oabel of Tayabas.

In the Elite Boys' category, Michael Kaibigan of Maasin was favored over Winefredo Victoriano of Bago. Victorio Saludar III of DDN outmatched Ronie Tanallon of GenSan by retirement. Genesis Libranza of Cabadbaran breezed past Marvin Esquirdo of MisOr. Jolan Bunghanoy of DDN showed mastery over Allan Refuela of Cebu. Reoxyl Tabogon of Cebu made Regino Pajaron of MisOr quit the fight. Quirino Mellejor, Jr. of DDN frustrated Maasin City's Jason Entia. Risty Apas of DDN succeeded over Jovanie Arayan of Mati. Darryl Ramos of Maasin edged Romnick Villegas of Leyte. In the most applauded fight of the night, Richard Bacala of Maasin overcame the guns of Gerald Rios of Tayabas.

London Olympian Mark Anthony Barriga arrived and showed up at the fights together with Jade Bornea, AIBA World Youth Championships bronze medalist. They will have an exhibition bout today during the finals.
