PhilBoxing.com Tue, 05 Feb 2013
Toowoomba will be represented well this weekend with two Smithy?s Promotions boxers fighting on big cards in Brisbane and Sydney.
This Friday night Jezze ?El Rey? Carrasco will fight on the undercard of the Sonny Bill Williams and Quade Cooper fights when he takes on Brisbane based opponent Waylon ?The Sherrif? Law.
Carrasco (2w 1L 1D), who is trained by former Queensland pro champion Brandon Wood, will step in to the ring looking for vengeance after suffering his first loss to current Queensland light welterweight champion Ty Gilchrist.
This fight comes as a big opportunity for Jezze fighting on a high profile undercard and being televised on Mainevent PPV around the country.
Cory Hess who is also managed by Brendon Smith of Smithy?s Promotions will also be looking to make his mark in the professional ranks when he steps in the ring to make his debut in Sydney on Saturday night.
Hess, who is trained by Craig Monagle from the Trading Blows gym was a successful amateur and will be looking to carry that success in to the professional game.
Standing in the way of ?The little hitman? will be well established muay thai fighter Glenn Pervis who will be also making his debut as a professional boxer.
Brendon Smith of Smithy?s Promotions says he is excited about the growing strength of Smithy?s Promotions.
?Everyday the Smithy?s Promotions stable is growing and once again we will be well represented this weekend with Jezze and Cory. We are fast be coming a force to be reckoned with on the domestic and International scene.?
