SPOILED FANS OF BOXING

PhilBoxing.com

Mt. P, SC ? Boxing fans have been spoiled lately, those free fights, those non PPV fights were very good and entertaining. I can?t remember this long stretch of a good fight. Can a big PPV fight like the Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez IV continue the trend? Can they close out 2012 with a bang?

Dawson vs Ward -- the crowning of a true star in Andre Ward and the Chavez Jr vs Martinez collision were the banner fights for September.

October was big with Brandon Rios vs Mike Alvarado, probably the front runner for fight of the year. Rios won, but for me both fighters won that fight and the biggest winner is the entire boxing community. What a fight! A must see fight!

November was just out of the world boxing month. Let's start between Mares and Moreno -- the guile Moreno, the defensive minded Moreno was opened up by rugged youngster of Mares. Mares is the ruler of 122 lbs. Then Viloria-Marquez clashed.

Jonathon Banks-Seth Mitchell cannot be ignored (think about this in a span of 8 days, Banks trained Klitschko for Nov. 10 fight in Germany when Steward passed away? after the fight he flew back to Detroit to continue training and attend Stewards funeral on Nov. 13? then fought Mitchell on the Nov. 17th, Banks was supposed to get hammered on that fight, to set-up a Klitschko-Mitchell tussle, but Banks did not follow the script, he knocked out Mitchell in the 2nd round? )

Boy oh boy the Broner vs Champion DeMarco. Can you imagine a Mayweather but 10X stronger? That is Broner my friends. He is cocky but a very likable one.

Hatton?s last fight. He was leading on my scorecard, but that wicked left liver hooked was just a perfect shot. In other words, it was a very good November fight too.

Lastly, Berto-Guerrero closing the month of November with full of blood, sweat and swells (another fight of the year candidate). I told you November was out of this world month for boxing!

Here comes December and it opened with a hungry Austin Trout waging war with the MSG legend Miguel Cotto. The WBA champion Trout was too slippery for Cotto, Trout is like a fish whom Cotto can?t just trap in a pan. But I still want to see a Cotto-Canelo Alvarez fight.

Now, the question is, will Pacquiao-Marquez IV continue to spoil the boxing fans? They should!

All the fights I mentioned above, they were all free fights. But to watch a Manny fight it?ll cost you $60, okay I lied, it is a little bit cheaper, $59.99. If you are living on a minimum wage here in the US, you have to work 9 to 10 hours so u can afford to buy the PPV.

Pacman has promised to knock Marquez out, but those knockdowns are diminishing for this series, and the decisions are getting closer and controversial.

Meanwhile Marquez is getting more brave and his counter punching is more accurate as the series goes on. Maybe Marquez already read all Manny?s moves and fakes. Maybe Marquez knows where to position his left foot. I don?t know but Marquez is looking better each fight.

The last time we bought a Manny Pacquiao PPV we were all dismayed, because the decision was horrible and at the same time the show is not an action filled performance between Bradley and Pacman. Not worthy of a whooping $64.99 price tag.

So on Dec. 8, this Saturday, will this Manny Pacquiao PPV can measure up with the previous free fights few weeks ago? Can this fourth rendezvous topped the previous 3? Manny?s last knockout win was 3 years ago, can he back up his promise to his trainer that he will knockout Marquez this time around?

So many questions, but one thing I wish the fans can savor this time, that is, I hope their hard earned money is worth buying the PPV. Hope they will do a Rios-Alvarado fight, the non PPV fight.

According to Masyadors in Vegas as of presstime is:

Manny is +280
JMM is -220

Oh!BeerTime!

I told you I picked Adrian Peterson in the 4th round! And hoping he will be 50%, but man, is he human? Go AP! Rack up those fantasy points!... why is always Pau Gasol? It is unfair already, blame somebody who cant shoot free throws!... He won NBA title, the MVP, the gold medal, would that make LeBron the sportsman of the year? Show me the criteria! I heard Harangody is a very sportsman, he always give interview every after the game!... AJ Banal, hate to tell you my friend, you need some fresh inputs, you got the talents but you need to tweak that one last button? Where is the Ahas Nietes? Is he still a champ? Why are ALA hiding their champion?... Arce should be more smart coming dec 15, relax, focus, effective attack and make sure to bring fight in deep waters, Arce should understand that his face is not a shield this time, deep waters (did I mentioned that?) and blasts those weak breast and headbutt those glassy fists? Happy Birthday to my Librado Andales Jr.! KUMBATEA!
