NBA -- Spurs improve NBA-best road record to 7-1 By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Mon, 26 Nov 2012 CHICAGO -- When it comes to taking care of NBA business away from home, no one does it better than the San Antonio Spurs. Halfway through their punishing six-game road trip, the Spurs made it 3-for-3 Sunday night when they beat the Toronto Raptors in double overtime,111-106, at the Air Canada Centre. Prior to invading their rivals north of the border, the Spurs soundly beat the Celtics in Boston, 112-110, on November 21 and they came back from 17 points down to turn back the Pacers in Indiana, 104-97, on November 23. The Raptors gave San Antonio all it can handle. The close-knit affair had 16 deadlocks and 13 lead changes. But after 58 tedious minutes of animosity, the veteran Spurs eventually prevailed, thanks to Spurs guard Tony Parker, who led all scorers with 32 points. "It could have gone either way, we had to work for this one. In the second overtime, it was close, and they were switching the pick and rolls and I was just trying to get a rhythm and try to get aggressive on (Andrea) Bargnani," Parker described the nip-and-tuck battle to NBA.com. But Parker was hardly alone in toppling the gallant Raptors. Tim Duncan added 26 points, five rebounds and six assists while Manu Ginobili chipped in 15 points. Danny Green and Boris Diaw pooled together 24 for the Spurs, who shot 44-of-103 field goals (42.7 percent) and 8-of--27 threes (29.6 percent). Although the Raptors shot a total of 110 field goals, they couldn't take advantage, hitting only 40 for a meek 36.4 percent. And while the Raptors enjoyed a 61-52 rebounding edge, they were amiss from 3-land, just 6-for-24. Toronto also lost the assists battle, 25-21. DeMar Dozan led all Raptors with 29 points and seven rebounds while rookie Jonas Valanciunas finished with 22. Kyle Lowry ended up with 20. (Homer D.
