ALBERT PAGARA VS. TAWANRUNG EAUSAMPAN IN MAASIN PRIDE IV

For the first time in Maasin City sports, a boxing match involving a foreign fighter will brought by Boxing Best Promotion and the Maasin City Sports Council on November 16, 2012 at the Maasin City Gymnasium. The boxing card is dubbed Maasin Pride IV and offered for the birthday of Governor Damian Mercado.

Prince Albert Pagara, fresh from a win over journeyman Marvin Tampus in Balamban, Cebu will face Tawanrung Eausampan of Thailand. Both protagonists are undefeated in their professional fights. Pagara has an immaculate record of 13-0-0 with 9 KO wins while Eausampan has an unblemished slate of 5-0-0 with 2 KO wins.

So far, Eausampan has fought all Thai opponents namely Kong Sithsamart, Den Sithsaithong, Chartphichit Sor Rathidec, Khaosainoi Or Nanthasrino, and Tepparith Sor Thanmajak. He won all of them in Thailand and this will be his first assignment outside of his home country.

Pagara on the other had has fought two foreign opponents. He won against a Tanzanian named Shabani Madilu by an eight-round unanimous decision in Bacolod City. He knocked the African down thrice. It was only Albert?s eighth pro fight. His second foreign opponent was Phupha Por Nobnom of Thailand whom he floored twice in the second round for the TKO.

The younger Pagara fought in his birthplace Maasin City thrice and all fights were called Maasin Pride. All his three opponents never got to go the distance. He defeated Anthony Galigao (KO 1st Rd.), Rogen Flores (TKO 4th Rd.) and Henry Acha (KO 3rd Rd.) before the cheering hometown fans. Every Pagara fight in Maasin, hundreds of barrio folks from his home Barangay Lib-og, led by his uncle Barangay Captain Walter Sepe and mother Sabrina Gerogalem Pagara, would watch him in action atop the ring. His father is now employed at the Maasin City Hall training amateur boxers.

Prince Albert is now ranked No. 33 in the whole world in the bantamweight division by Boxrec.com. The same prestigious website listed him as No. 5 best bantamweight in the Philippines behind OPBF bantamweight champion Rolly Matsushita, Marlon Tapales, WBC international bantamweight champion Dennis Tubieron, and WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight champion AJ Banal.

He is listed as the No. 40 bantamweight boxer in the whole world by the International Boxing Organization computerized rankings. He is rated No. 10 superflyweight contender by the Orient Pacific Boxing Federation. He is ranked number two Philippine contender by the Games and Amusements Board in the superflyweight division.

The supporting bouts include ring comedy king Jojo ?Flash? Entor of Negros Occidental who will clash with Gilbert Graciano of General Santos City. Another foreign boxer Takaoki Noma of Osaka, Japan will see action against Jamjam Ungon of Bantayan, Cebu. Bryan Lobitania of Tagbilaran City will box with Dingdong Quinones of General Santos City.

Amateur boxers from the ALA Gym will face boxers of the Maasin City Sports Council stable in the added attractions. This boxing presentation will be given free for the lower and upper bleachers.
