Pero vs Miller: Heavies Collide in Prove it fight on DAZN By Chris Carlson PhilBoxing.com Sat, 25 Apr 2026 ![]() This Saturday night in Las Vegas, Neveda, rising heavyweight prospect Lenier Pero faces Jarrell Miller. Miller is by far the more experienced boxer heading into this matchup. Pero appears to have the talent edge on paper anyways. As the old saying goes, that’s why they fight the fights. Miller is a perfect test for Lenier to see if he can take the next step up the ladder of the heavyweight division. This card will be live streaming on the DAZN app. It’s a tale of two careers for Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller, one before the failed drug test, and the one he’s currently in. As we all remember, Miller was in line for the largest payday of his life challenging Anthony Joshua for his world titles. As the story goes, Andy Ruiz filled in and pulled a major upset only to lose badly in the rematch. After an extended time out of the ring, Miller managed to win three bouts in a row in his second act. Big Baby brought some energy against Daniel Dubois, only to fade down the stretch, getting stopped in the 10th round. Although it was a lethargic outing for Andy Ruiz, many folks in the boxing world thought Jarrell Miller should have won. The fight was ruled a draw. Miller fought fairly well early against Kingsley Ibeh, only to fade once again in the back half, winning via split decision. We never saw Jarrell’s peak ceiling; one can only assume we never will Miller being age 37. Lenier Pero is a Cuban native whose toughest opponent was Jordan Thompson. Prior to turning pro in 2019, Pero had a solid career in the unpaid ranks. Lenier Pero won two gold medals at the Pan American Games and competed at the Olympics. Fighting well-known names now in the pros like Filip Hrgovic and Guido Vianello. Untested as a professional with a record of 13-0 isn’t ideal in his 7th year as a pro. Big Baby Miller at his best is an aggressive fighter who loves to outwork his foes. For a big man such as Miller, he does surprisingly have good output, and his goal is to lean on his opposition in an attempt of wearing them down. Pero will have to weather the storm whereas Miller must pace himself. Pero fighting out of a high guard should attack the body with both hands. Look for left hooks to the body and head along with counter punching during exchanges from Pero. The key for Miller is to make this an inside fight, not allowing much breathing room with Pero stuck on the ropes. Both men tend to throw looping wider punches. Whoever throws the shorter compact punch should be able to land cleaner. From a betting perspective, Miller is the favorite sitting around –145 all the way up to –190. Pero is a live dog slated from +115 to +148. Miller by decision is +130 and +230 knockout. Pero by decision is +230 and +470 stoppage. This boxing podcaster believes the best bet is Pero by decision +230. My Official Prediction is Lenier Pero by decision.
