Subkhankulov stops Usmonov, Agrba wins hard test, and Aminova claims WBA Asia title at IBA.PRO 17 in Ufa

PhilBoxing.com

Lausanne, Switzerland — Ufa hosted a thrilling night of professional boxing as IBA.PRO 17 delivered clinical stoppages, high-stakes title action, and dominant performances from local favourites. The card featured a series of compelling contests, culminating in a dramatic main event that saw Artur Subkhankulov (RUS) secure his position as the mandatory challenger for the IBF world title.

Subkhankulov earns IBF mandatory position in dramatic main event

In the main event, unbeaten fighters Bahodur Usmonov (Tajikistan) and Artur Subkhankulov (Russia) competed for the IBF mandatory challenger position. Usmonov began aggressively from his southpaw stance, applying pressure in closely contested early rounds, while Subkhankulov found success in the third with heavy left hands. Despite Usmonov’s strong response and high tempo, Subkhankulov’s counterpunching proved decisive.

The fight turned in the tenth round when Subkhankulov scored two knockdowns. He added another in the 11th and finished the bout in the 12th with a fourth knockdown, forcing a stoppage. Subkhankulov secured a TKO victory and the IBF mandatory challenger status.

Aminova crowns home appearance with WBA Asia title

Azalia Aminova (Russia) delivered a composed performance against Cynthia Ogunsemilore (Nigeria) to capture the WBA Asia title. Competing in a new weight category, Aminova controlled the fight from the outset, dictating the pace and demonstrating superior accuracy.

Utilising effective footwork and distance management, Aminova maintained control throughout eight rounds, avoiding prolonged exchanges. She earned a clear unanimous decision victory to become the new WBA Asia champion.

Agrba passes a demanding test

WBA number-one contender Khariton Agrba (Russia) secured a hard-fought victory over Jerald Into (Philippines). Agrba adopted a cautious approach early, allowing Into to press forward while relying on a tight defensive guard. The opening rounds were competitive, with Into targeting power shots and Agrba using movement to neutralise attacks.

From the fourth round, Agrba established control, applying pressure and landing consistent combinations. After hurting Into in the sixth round, Agrba maintained defensive discipline and effective counterattacking to close out the fight, earning a unanimous decision win.
