PAGARA BROTHERS, THE HOTTEST PINOY BOXING SIBLINGS (PART IV)

PhilBoxing.com

While Pagara Brothers Jason and Albert trained at the ALA Gym and fought their ring foes from one Pinoy Pride to another, their father Reynaldo worked at Misamis Oriental. Mother Sabrina stayed at Maasin City, Southern Leyte. Reynaldo would from time to time travel from Cagayan de Oro to Maasin to visit his family including the other Paraga offsprings.

After his win over Rosbel Montoya, Jason was interviewed by telephone over Radio Station DYDM, owned by the Diocese of Maasin, by radio newscaster Zaldy Olita. Jason thanked this writer for giving him the accolade the city endowed him and would be very willing to talk over the possibility of the city government supporting his family in Barangay Lib-og.

?I thanked the people of Maasin City for all their prayers and praises for my success,? Jason stated this on air. ?I would like to come back to Maasin to personally thank all of you.?

As local chief executive of the city where his parents and other siblings are staying, this writer would be very willing to lend a hand of support to the Pagara family as part of the incentive for Jason and Albert?s exploits.

Jason also thanked the management of ALA promotions led by Antonio Aldeguer for guiding his career, especially giving him the chance to redeem himself against his Mexican tormentor who snapped his 15-bout winning streak.

After the loss during their first encounter, Aldeguer said, ?Pagara needs to take a step back and learn from the loss. This fight was a big test for him to see if he is ready for the big fights. Obviously, he needs to develop still.?

Jason said during the Maasin radio interview that he was not fully prepared for the first battle. His father stated that he was not in good physical condition having contacted a fever before the fight, refuting reports that he was in conflict with his son which affected his training.

?I will do my best to knock him out,? Jason said before the fight. ?Last time we met, I was not able to knock him out and he was not able to knock me out as well, but this time there will be a knockout.?

True to his words, El Nino floored Lobito four times and scored a sixth-round TKO. ?I didn?t expect it to end this way. I have never seen Pagara this focused. Now we have seen what Jason Pagara is all about. If he is focused then he has the potential. We are going to bring him more fights to test him. He has a long way to go,? said ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer.

Sweet revenge is the best two words we can describe for the incredible Pagara victory. He lost the WBO Asia Pacific Youth light-welterweight crown last year. Now, he won the more prestigious WBO international light-welterweight title over the same opponent.

We conclude the four-part article on the Pagara Brothers.
