PINOY PRIDE XV: POST FIGHT QUOTES FROM MEXICAN FIGHTERS

PhilBoxing.com

It was another slam bang Pinoy Pride XV in Cebu this past Saturday night in the beautiful city of the Philippines by one of the top boxing promotions in Asia, ALA BOXING PROMOTIONS. The Filipino boxing fans have a fascination with Mexican and Latino boxers and ALA Boxing Promotions is committed to bringing the best action to its growing list of boxing fans.

The Mexicans came into Cebu with a lot of confidence, physically and mentally prepared for their tough battles against the well conditioned, young, fast, powerful and always disciplined boxers of ALA Boxing.

The first fight of the night for the Mexicans was Angel ?Arcangel? Martinez vs. Jimrex ?The Executioner? Jaca in a 8 round event. There was a lot of trash talking before the fight, but came to light that some words were just twisted and Martinez came into this fight with a lot of respect for Jaca. Of course, Jaca has fought for the world championship against Mexico?s best boxer, Juan Manuel Marquez and had a good fight against Marquez. Jaca did his best against Marquez, but came up short in the fight. Just going against Marquez, that takes a lot of guts and courage and shows a lot of respect to any boxing fanatic.

Jimrex Jaca still showed he has power in his punches with the many knockdowns he gave to a tough fighter in Martinez. Martinez quoted as saying, "Jaca had power in his punches and I felt it." He said he was proud to fight against Jaca and did his best, but Jaca was the best man that night and "I learned a lot from this fight, and I will go back to the gym and train harder.? There will be bigger fights for Jaca, with dedicated training and commitment to excellence; he will make a run for a title soon.

The second Mexican to fight was Jorge ?EL Feroz? Pazos who came into this fight with ripping abs and on weight 3 days before the fight. He was going against one of the top rising stars of ALA Boxing and that is Genesis ?Azucal? Servania, the reigning WBC International Silver Bantamweight Champion and now the newly crowned WBO International Bantamweight Champion.

Pazos gave his thoughts about the fight, ?Servania is very good. He hits very hard and he worked to my body. He is very quick; he will move in, hit you fast and move out fast, he is very agile in his movements. When Servania is inside, those short punches are devastating, and I felt that power. I knew Servania was good from the reports I got from my assistant Edmundo Gaytan since he was in the corner of Marcos Cardenas when he fought Servania and prepared me what to expect. In reality, Servania was a hard hitting machine in the ring. He was by far the toughest opponent I ever faced. I learned from this fight and I never quit in this fight. I gave my all to the end.?

The Main Event of the evening was Mexican Rosbel Montoya vs. Jason Pagara in a rematch from last year in which Montoya totally dominated the fight. Montoya came into this fight well prepared and in great form. With all that, he couldn?t withstand the Pagara that we all know, the strong, fast and hard hitting fighter trained by his tough trainer Joseph Baldago. Team Pagara came well prepared for this fight. They were on a mission to show the Filipino fans and the world , that Pagara is the real deal.

Montoya was quoted after the fight: "I injured my arm in the sixth round by a hard punch to my right forearm near my elbow by Pagara that left me unable to continue.? A bulging muscle protrudes from the arm of Montoya. ?Pagara was a totally different fighter from the first fight, he was fast, more powerful and just totally changed for the better. I knew from the previous fight, Pagara is strong in the beginning rounds, so my plan was to jab and move the beginning of the fight. Pagara came in well prepared and totally changed my game plan,? Montoya said.

After the tremendous action of Pinoy Pride XV, Mexican Jorge Pazos was vomiting in the dressing room. That is not a good sign for a boxer. The quick response of the ALA Team of Vice President Dennis Canete, Chad Canares and Claire Anne Lukban made sure that Pazos received immediate attention by the GAB (Games and Amusement Board) ringside Doctor Rene Bonsubre. Pazos was immediately sent to a local hospital for precautionary medical treatment to receive a CAT Scan and any necessary tests. GAB Doctor Rene Bonsubre and this writer made sure Pazos was assured he was in good hands. All tests proved that Pazos is ok and was revealed he ate spaghetti 4 hours before his fight and a lot of chocolate bars, and also the devastating pounding to the stomach he took from Servania didn?t help.

Pazos and Team Mexico left on their flight with no delays.
Team Mexico spent thousands of dollars shopping in the local malls buying 2 Samsung Laptop Computers and many pairs of shoes, clothes and helping the local economy.

Team Mexico wants to thank ALA boxing for having them fight here in the beautiful city of Cebu and for their great kindness they showed to them. Team Mexico toured Cebu city and admire the warm reception they received from the best boxing fans in the world, The Cebuano Boxing Fanatics.

Lastly, ALA Boxing Promotions showed pure professionalism with world class and dedication to Pazos for their immediate attention to him. He is totally heartfelt and grateful to them.
