Jujeath Nagaowa Losses by Points Against WBC World Champ Momo Koseki
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Wed, 20 Jun 2012
In an interesting match, Filipina fighter Jujeath Nagaowa of Baguio lost via unanimous decision to experienced WBC atomweight world champion Momo Kaseki last night in the main event of a card staged at the historic Korajuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The official score cards from the all-Japanese panel of judges were:
Takeaki Kanaya 99-91, Kodai Kumasaki 98-92, Kazuo Abe 98-92 all in favor of the still WBC atomweight world champion Momo Koseki. The referee was Katsuhiko Nakamura.
With the victory, the veteran 29-year-old world champion Momo Kokeki made a successful 8th title defense of the prestigious WBC green/golden belt that she won back in August of 2007 Koseki. All Koseki's defenses have been in Japan.
The Filipina Jujeath Nagaowa was aggressive throughout the fight trying to press the action, but Koseki fought well before her home crowd, making good use of her speed, experience and her very long reach to keep Baguio's "Bad Girl" at bay from the distance.
After the fight, Jujeath's manager Brico Santig had this to say:
"We lost by points unanimous. The champion Koseki was very fast fighting from long distance. Out boxer Jujeath always trying to go inside to press action and score body shots. It was a close fight with several head butt. But we really lose by points. Champion won this time, congratulations to Momo. But Jujeath fought well. Jujeath learned much in this fight. We'll keep fighting. Let's try our luck next time."
