LOS ANGELES, June 14 - Fight fans will continue their Independence Day weekend fireworks when Golden Boy Promotions presents an explosive night of boxing featuring veteran favorites Jesus Soto Karass and Euri Gonzalez squaring off at The Hangar at the Orange County Fair & Event Center on Saturday, July 7 as part of a doubleheader televised live on FOX Sports Net and FOX Deportes, as well as on a delayed basis on FUEL TV.

Soto Karass and Gonzalez will meet in a 10-round junior middleweight main event while a 10-round co-feature will see a junior lightweight clash between unbeaten Mexican Olympian Francisco Vargas and Puerto Rico's Irving Torres.

Soto Karass vs. Gonzalez and Vargas vs. Torres are presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Corona and DeWalt Tools. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. PT on fight night and the first bell rings at 6:00 p.m. PT. The FOX Sports Net and FOX Deportes bilingual simulcast will air live at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT. FUEL TV will rebroadcast the fight on August 5, at 12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT.

One of the toughest fighters in the sport today, Los Angeles' Jesus "Renuente" Soto Karass (25-7-3, 16 KO's) has been a thorn in the side of top welterweights for years, including Chris Smith, Mike Jones, David Estrada and Carson Jones. In 2012, the 29-year-old Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico native decided to takes his talents to 154 pounds and after a January setback against Gabriel Rosado, he decisioned then 10-1-1 prospect Said El Harrak, proving that he is still a danger to anyone he faces.

Fighting out of Hollywood, Florida by way of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, 33-year-old Euri "Millon" Gonzalez (20-2-1, 14 KO's) has won his share of regional titles over the years, shared the ring with Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez and is looking to return to the win column after a hard-fought loss in his last fight against rising star Ravshan Hudaynazarov on June 2. He'll also look to prove that he's ready for a run at a world title, but first he has to defeat the rugged Soto Karass on July 7.

2008 Mexican Olympian Francisco Vargas (11-0-1, 9 KO's) has an eye on making the transition from prospect to contender, but before he does, he has to defeat Irving Torres on July 7. The 27-year-old Mexico City native who now trains in Los Angeles sees every fight as a championship fight and will look to impress his new Southern California supporters at The Hangar.

Making his United States debut against Vargas after competing solely on the Caribbean circuit will be Salinas, Puerto Rico's Irving Torres (9-2, 7 KO's). The winner of three of his last four fights, the 25-year-old Torres is a skilled battler with plenty of power which he will utilize as he attempts to hand the undefeated Vargas his first loss.

A full undercard will be announced shortly.
