PANONCILLO APPROVES MOST ANTICIPATED HEAVYWEIGHT MATCH-UP OF THE YEAR HAYE VERSUS CHISORA FOR THE NEWLY ORGANIZED VACANT HEAVYWEIGHT WBO INTERNATIONAL TITLE JULY 14, LONDON, ENGLAND PhilBoxing.com Sat, 09 Jun 2012  Manila Philippines ? In such a long time, the heavyweight division was more like just going with the flow and not anymore being anticipated as mega fight for fans around the world. There were no interesting match-ups in the heavyweight division anymore. The Heavyweights are largely thought of as more for putting people to sleep for lackluster performance rather than excitement. However, here comes Derek Chisora who everyone feels went overboard for being un-sportsmanlike and not handling himself in a professional manner for slapping Vitali Klitscho on the face and brawling with Haye. Most of us don't favor his wrongdoing however, let?s face it guys, this is contact sports, people like excitement and entertaining matches and frankly the heavyweight division needed the spice. This is boxing, let?s not be too conservative about this. Some people may not agree however, Dereck Chisora brought something on the table for heavyweights, like it or not, but it?s the truth. It is why more MMA Sports fans come out to watch their sports because of this kind of excitement within their sports, it is what brings people to come and watch fights. Quite honestly, it might have brought out more interested fight fans into watching the Heavyweight division. Nowadays, boxing needs more entertaining than just liking the sports of boxing. Surely now after Chisora-Haye incident, we are sure there will be a lot of people around the world tuning into this heavyweight championship fight. It was during the post fight conference of Klitscho-Chisora that had made it more interesting when David Haye was in attendance and had challenge Derek Chisora directly that ended up in a brawl that sealed their engagement. Obviously everyone thought that the two was going to be banned from boxing and not being licensed respectively by their local Sports Authority. We all thought wrong, the fight is happening, I guess when fight fans want to see it, somewhere and somehow it will get done. It was clear after that brawl that promoter Frank Warren saw a very promising fight between the two at UK and everyone in the world would want to see. It was a matchmaker dream come true that had unfolded in front of his eyes and was bound to happen. There were a lot of controversies of authorities trying to stop this engagement. However, Frank Warrens Promotions, looked elsewhere for approvals and got the Luxembourg Federation on his side that was in favor of licensing this bout. The WBO and WBA who have also lifted their ban and have approved it for the International and Inter-continental titles respectively. The fight is pushing through on July 14, 2012 at London, England with thousands of tickets already sold. WBO International Chairman Leon Panoncillo, Jr. have confirmed also that he had officially sanctioned this bout for the vacant WBO International Heavyweight title, supervised by WBO Attorney John Duggan and will be attended by the WBO President Francisco ?Paco? Valcarcel himself. WBO #1 Flyweight Milan Melindo of the Philippines was the first to obtain the newly organized WBO International Flyweight title against Jesus Gelez of Columbia via first round knock out at the Resort World Casino, Philippines in their growing boxing program Pinoy Pride XIV promoted by ALA Promotions.
