Drian Francisco looking at another fight before talking to Golden Boy Promotions
By Carlo Pamintuan PhilBoxing.com Thu, 09 Dec 2010

News broke out yesterday that Drian Francisco?s manager, Elmer Anuran, was heading to the United States to meet with representatives from the Oscar de la Hoya?s Golden Boy Promotions.
I talked to Anuran earlier and he said that he is no longer going to the United States. ?I was really planning to go there but we received a handful of offers for Drian, including one from a Japanese promoter,? said Anuran. ?I was really scheduled to go to the States, I even wanted to watch the fight between Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana but I canceled it earlier. It would have been futile to go on with the trip because Golden Boy Promotions will not talk to us while we have fights we want to do on our own,? he added.
Francisco was enjoying the fruits of his recent victory as he was invited to be the guest of Governor Vilma Santos as he resides in Batangas. He also came from the Batasang Pambansa where he received a commendation from the members of Congress. Francisco is also scheduled to meet with President Noynoy Aquino for a courtesy call.
?I?m really tired. I haven?t had much rest since we came back because of all the people we have to visit but I?m happy that the many people want to see me,? said Francisco who looked like he wanted nothing more than being able to finally sleep and have a good night?s rest.
?If he wins another fight, specially the one in Japan, I think the guys from Golden Boy Promotions will be the one knocking on our doors. This will be a better scenario for us,? Anuran said.
There were talks that Francisco will be facing WBA champion Hugo Cazares next but Anuran said that their title shot will be available anytime. ?Drian may fight as early as the third week of February and as long as he keeps winning, the match with Cazares will always be on the table,? said Anuran.
