COLD AND STORMY WEATHER WELCOMES GORRES AND AMONSOT
PhilBoxing.com Tue, 03 Jan 2006
Since their arrival in Los Angeles, Gorres and Amonsot have not done much training except jog in the morning and skip rope and shadow-box in the afternoon.
Both have not yet reported to the Wild Card Gym but have kept themselves in good shape by doing the regular roadwork and light calesthenics drills.
Inspite of the holiday season where parties and foods were in abundance, Gorres and Amonsot strickly adhered to their desciplined diet by avoiding sweet and fatty foods and manage to maintain their training weights.
ALA Boys Z Gorres (right) and Czar Amonsot are in sweatshirts due to the cold weather in LA.
There is a strong possibility that Samuel Lopez, who is a proteg? of Guilty Promotions may not be fighting Gorres as the promoter has not yet confirmed their match-up whereas Amonsot opponent Arturo Quintero has already been more or less decided.
Tomorrow Jan 3 both Gorres and Amonsot will start their training at the Wild Card Gym where Freddie Roach and Ala Villamor are expected to handle and supervise the training. Gorres and Amonsot will probably spar the following day.
With still a month away from their ring date, Gorres and Amonsot will train two weeks at the Wild Card gym and then will motor to Las Vegas to culminate the last phase of their training before their fight on Feb 3.
In Vegas former trainer of JMP stable Tony Martin will play host to the ALA boys who will travel to Vegas with business agent Michael Koncz.
