DARYL PEOPLES REPLACES OUSTED IBF PRESIDENT MARIAN MUHAMMAD By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Wed, 26 May 2010 Daryl Peoples, Chairman of the Ratings Committee has replaced Marian Muhammad as the new International Boxing Federation chairman. The head of the IBF Championship Committee Lindsey Tucker told us ?All I can say now is that Daryl Peoples is the new IBF President.? Muhammad was ousted as IBF president at a special board meeting. Muhammad herself said the board called a special meeting and ?voted me off the board and out of the presidency? of the International Boxing Federation. Muhammad said members of the board claimed there were ? improper payments to my family members? which she branded as a lie. Muhammad admitted that she paid her son and grandson to clean the office and do some other work which she said she had ?every right to do as long as she did not obligate the IBF to more than $10,000.? The outgoing IBF president also mentioned the fact that it was alleged she did not hand out official assignments in an even mannermments officials assignments were not being made evenly. Muhammad countered that the allegations were ?crap? and that the IBF had to go through commissions and recommend officials. In most all cases, the commissions pick who they choose to work the fights.? Responding to allegations that she was driving the IBF into bankruptcy and that the OBF operated on a $300,000 deficit last year the former IBF president was quoted as saying ?that may be true but we took in $200,000 plus sanction fees and that same board voted to pay Larry Hazzard $70,000 when I hired him at the end of 2008? adding ?this is where we see how many snakes will survive in this business.? In an attack on Ratings Committee chairman Daryl Peoples, the former IBC president said ?You can?t get more cut throat than what Daryl Peoples just did simply because he and Lindsey Tucker did not want Larry Hazzard in the IBF office. On more than one occasion, I made it clear that I was not going to get rid of Larry Hazzard. So to get rid of Larry, they cooked up these lies against me.
