"Rumble in the Jungle" Results By Jonathan Davis PhilBoxing.com Mon, 29 Mar 2010 Last March 5, 2010 at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin, CA, the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) sanctioned the 12th Annual Fight Night "Rumble In The Jungle" featuring 14 rounds of world class boxing and 9 rounds of Muay Thai kickboxing. In the Boxing main event, up and coming Lightweight Jose Manuel Sanchez beat Juan Zuniga by majority decision, with scores of 58-56 (twice) and 57-57. In the first of two back-up 4-rounders, Israel Arrellano stopped Ricardo Malfavon in the 4th round of an all-action bout for a TKO victory, while Alejandro Soloria kayoed Gilbert Serna in the 1st round of the other 4-round setto. Headlining the Muay Thai Kickboxing, Kyle Nuey scored a 3rd TKO over Jesus Lujan while Scott Venrick defeated Ernie Guttierez by Split Decision in the chief support. Finally, in the featured all-female kickboxing fight, American Linda Tyler bested her compatriot Lisa Mauldin by Split Decision. In between fights, dining guests in tuxedos and gala dresses mingling with celebrities and sports figures were treated to shows, and bid on a variety of unique silent auction items including puppies, antiques and vintage cars. Opening salvo won a bidder a Rolls Royce for a million dollars. Founded in 1994 as a non-profit automotive museum and special event venue by Dick Marconi who is known in Orange County, California as one of the great philanthropists, the Marconi Automotive Museum and Foundation displays a 30 million dollar collection of historical, exotic and classic cars such as Super Bikes, Open Wheel Formula 1 and Indy Racing Cars, American Muscle Cars, Vintage Racing and High Performance Exotics. The Foundation funnels a large percentage of event proceeds to donate to local children's charities and expects to sponsor more Boxing, MMA, and Muay Thai Kickboxing events this year.
