The fight will stream live on NESportsTV.com for a cost of $14.95. It will also be archived online for on demand viewing following the event for the same price. The bout will mark Maskaev’s first fight in the United States in over three years. His last appearance stateside was when he scored a 12th round TKO over former undisputed heavyweight champ Hasim Rahman to claim the WBC title in June 2006. Maskaev would make one successful defense of his title against Okhello Peter before losing it to Samuel Peter. Maskaev is currently ranked #2 by the WBC. A win over Aguilera will earn him a shot at a title eliminator. As an amateur, Maskaev defeated current WBC champ Vitali Klitschko via knockout. Aguilera is a Dominican born fighter who currently resides Houston, Texas. He previously lived in Newburgh, New York and is promoted by former heavyweight contender Lou Savarese. After beginning his career 10-0, Aguilera suffered his first career defeat when he was disqualified after a headbutt broke opponent Marcellus Brown’s nose in the 3rd round in a fight he was winning prior to being DQ’d. His only other career loss is a close split decision defeat at the hands of prospect Darrel Madison in a challenge for the New York State heavyweight title.
