CANILLAS, BACON TAKE ON SEPARATE FOES IN BALAMBAN TONITE

CEBU CITY -- ALA Gym prospects Larry Canillas and James Bacon will take on separate foes tonight in Balamban, Cebu for the Mayor Alex Binghay's Cup.
The crowd-pleaser superbantam Canillas (6-1-0 5KO), a product of ABS-CBN's 'Idol" boxing series, takes on tough Van Bantillan (7-2-1 4KO) of Iloilo while featherweight Bacon (8-1-0 5KO) will test his mettle against journeyman Melvin Ayudtud (12-19-2 11KO) of Laguna. Canillas last saw action against Roger Galicia in Bohol on July 25, 2009 which he won by 2nd round TKO in a non-stop action while Bacon last climbed the ring on March 14, 2009 in a rematch with Bukidnon's William Jorge at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu where he won by unanimous decision.
Also seeing action in the event dubbed as 'Laban sa Balamban' is local boy Eman Labanza who takes on Romano Celig. Wrapping up the card are crowd favorite Jojo Intor who takes on Tata Tadena, Edcel Tunacao vs Milchar Valiente and Ricardo Campana vs Jesson Taroja.
