MAYOL TO SPAR WITH NIETES, BANAL!

Los Angeles-based Filipino Rodel "Batang Mandaue" Mayol plans to spar with WBO kingpin Donnie Nietes and bantamweight AJ "Bazooka" Banal in preparation for his September 12 rematch with Ivan Calderon.
Mayol, in a message from LA, said that he'll spar on Wednesday possibly against the two stalwarts from the ALA Gym who are also training for their respective fights at the renowned Wild Card Gym.
Mayol indicated that once again, he will make sure that he goes to the fight in perfect shape noting that the fight will be held in enemy territory.
The Calderon-Mayol rematch is set to take place at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico.
Mayol said that Filipino trainer Buboy Fernandez might supervise his training, however, if Fernandez is not available, he will ask the incomparable Freddie Roach to be in his corner on fight night.
"Freddie will be in Puerto Rico on that night, as the Pacquiao-Cotto press tour also takes place. So if Buboy is not available, I will ask Freddie to be in my corner," said Mayol.
Expected to join Mayol in the Puerto Rico trip, aside from Fernandez, are some of his friends who joined him in New York for the first bout with Calderon namely "Jessie," Bestfriend" and Prem Encarnacion.
