TRIPLE WBO CHAMPIONSHIPS AT THE CEBU COLISEUM PhilBoxing.com Fri, 22 May 2009 It will be an exciting THURSDAY at the Cebu Coliseum as three current WBO Intercontinental/Oriental/Aspac Champions will defend their titles against formidable Thai opponents and a Filipino challenger on May 28, 2009 ? THURSDAY at the Cebu Coliseum which will start at 5:00 p.m. WBO Intercontinental Jr. Featherweight Champion, RAMIE LAPUT ( 37 W ( 20 Kos ) ? 3 L ) will face the veteran and two times world champion, Ratanachai Sor Vorapin ( 74 W ( 49 Kos ) ? 11 L ) of Thailand. This will be Laput?s toughest test in his career. Vorapin is best remembered for his 2 tough KO losses to Philippine boxing legend and future hall of famer, Gerry Pe?alosa. This fight will also serve as a homecoming for Ramie Laput. It was here in Cebu that he won an RP Championship and then later the WBO Asia-Pacific Interim Championship just last October, 2008. Ramie Laput is now ranked # 6 by WBO. Then there is MARVELOUS MARVIN SONSONA who might be the most exciting youngest prospect in our quest for a boxing superstar. Sonsona boasts of an eleven sensational knockouts out of twelve victories and is the currently WBO ASIA-PACIFIC Flyweight Youth champion. He is on the verge of making a name for himself as he moves forward to take on two-time former WBO World Champion WANDEE SINGWANCHA for the vacant WBO ORIENTAL FLYWEIGHT TITLE. Singwancha ( 57 W (12 Kos) ? 10 L ? 1 D ) will pose as the biggest threat for MARVELOUS MARVIN bringing with him an impressive 68 professional bouts that include two WBC world titles and several WBC regional titles to his credit and is racked at # 12 by the IBF. This two-time world champion, Wandee Singwancha has been credited for beating several Filipino champions such as former WBF, WBU world champion, Rolando Toyogan, RP champion Lito Dangud, RP champion Flash Murillo, WBC International champion, Ernesto Rubillar, RP champion Jojo Bardon and former 5 times world title challenger, Juanito Rubillar that he convincingly beat. Sonsona?s manager, Dr. Rajan Yraola and head coach Jun Agrabio believe that their fighter will win against the former world champion. ?We want the best and the best for Marvelous Marvin is Wandee Singwancha who we believe has all the credentials. We are gunning for the vacant WBO Oriental Flyweight title to solidify a higher raking with the WBO. That is our intention and the team know that it is a dangerous fight, but come fight night, we will show that Marvelous Sonsona has what it takes to be a champion.? Explained coach Agrabio. JHONREIL CASIMIRO of the Omega Boxing Stable will be the third current WBO regional champion who will defend his belt against compatriot ARDEN DIALE of Dante Almario?s stable. This will be Casimiro?s first defense of his title which he got last October 03, 2008 in Talisay City. Casimiro is confident to continue his winning streak and maintain his unblemished record and ranked # 6 in the WBO recent ratings. On the undercard, the undefeated, hard-hitting ANTHONY ?ROCKY? MARCIAL will face Jack de Asis of Manila. This bout would surely delight the Cebu crowd. THURSDAY NIGHT BOXING promises an action-packed boxing from the first bout to the main event. This event is presented to you by SGG Sport Promotions, Kokietgym of Thailand, American Boxing Academy of Digos, Omega Boxing Gym, VIVA Sports and the City Government of Cebu.
