16 World Team Trials Challenge Tournament champions have been added to the 2025 Final X card, including 2024 Olympic champion Amit Elor and two-time Olympic bronze medalist Kyle Dake, and will compete for coveted spots on Team USA. Final X is set for Saturday, June 14 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

In addition to her Olympic gold, Elor is a two-time Senior World champion and six-time age-group World champion in women’s freestyle. She became the youngest Olympic wrestling champion in U.S. history last summer at age 20 in Paris, France. Elor returns to Final X at 72 kg, the weight where she secured her two Senior World titles and feels most comfortable. She dropped to 68 kg during the Paris Olympic year.

Dake made the move from 74 kg to 86 kg following his Paris run. He earned bronze medals at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games at 74 kg in men’s freestyle. Dake has collected five World medals, four of which are gold and one silver. His first two World titles (2018, 2019) came at 79 kg before he dropped to 74 kg in advance of Tokyo and grabbed two more World golds (2021, 2022). Prior to this year, fans last saw Dake at 86 kg in 2016 where he finished as runner-up at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.

A third Olympian, Jacarra Winchester, qualified for Final X by way of the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament, which was held May 16-17 in Louisville, Ky. Winchester locked in her spot at 59 kg in women’s freestyle, where she is the reigning U.S. World Team member. Winchester is a five-time U.S. World Team member and two-time medalist at the World Championships. She was World champion in 2019 and World runner-up in 2023.

2022 U.S. World Team members Hayden Zillmer and Dymond Guilford are closing in on a second Team USA berth following impressive efforts in Louisville. Zillmer made the drop from 125 kg to 97 kg, where he won the World Team Trials title in men’s freestyle. Guilford emerged on top of a talented 76 kg women’s freestyle bracket to earn her Final X spot.

2019 U20 World champion David Carr, the 74 kg World Team Trials champion in men’s freestyle, headlines a batch of five age-group World medalists seeking his or her first Senior U.S. World Team. Winning the World Team Trials and securing a Final X berth were 2024 U20 World bronze medalist PJ Duke (70 kg) and 2024 U20 World silver medalist Josh Barr (92 kg) on the men’s freestyle side, plus three-time U20 World medalist Erin Golston (50 kg) and 2022 U20 World bronze medalist Adaugo Nwachukwu (62 kg) on the women’s freestyle side.

An additional five World Team Trials champions have wrestled for Team USA at an age-group World Championships—Real Woods (65 kg) and Levi Haines (79 kg) in men’s freestyle, and Felicity Taylor (53 kg), Everest Leydecker (55 kg) and Brooklyn Hays (68 kg) in women’s freestyle.

Rounding out the list of fresh Final X qualifiers is World Team Trials champion Trent Hillger at 125 kg in men’s freestyle.

What’s at stake?

Final X will determine the 2025 U.S. World Team in two international disciplines—men’s freestyle and women’s freestyle. In total, 20 weight classes will be contested, 10 in each discipline. The top two U.S. athletes in each weight classes will wrestle a best-of-three series at Final X to determine the U.S. representative at the 2025 Senior World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

All 20 Final X matchups have been set. A complete list of the best-of-three series pairings can be found below.
