CONDES WOWS MEXICAN FANS!
PhilBoxing.com Wed, 11 Jun 2008
Even in enemy land, IBF miniflyweight champion Florante Condes continues to win the hearts of some Latinos who have embraced his fighting style as that of them, and have grown fond of the humility of the Pinoy boxing champion.
During training yesterday at a local gym in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, Condes looked good and displayed his awesome hand speed and lateral skills.
"The fans were impressed with his power punch when the trainer Danny Bactol worked with the punch mitts for 4 rounds, 10 minutes jump rope and 3 shadow boxing," informed Condes' manager Dante Ortiz.
Condes, according to a Mexican report, also looked and felt very happy and confident going into this Saturday's showdown with local hero Raul Garcia.
"The gymnasium was full of fans waiting for him and along the way they received him with applause. Dozens of fans took photos with Florante for over 10 minutes, and he signed authograph on gloves and fight posters," said the source.
Today, a press conference was held at Hotel Araiza where television, radio and the writing media were present. Over a dozen journalists were present.
Team Condes is comprised of the IBF champ, Dante Ortiz, Filipino promoter Sammy Gello-ani, trainer Danny Bactol, and Attorney Padernal.
