CONCEPCION BACK IN U.S.
By Alex P. Vidal PhilBoxing.com Mon, 09 Jun 2008
Filipino hot prospect North American Boxing Federation (NABF) champion Bernabe Concepcion arrived at the LAX Airport on board Philippine Airlines Flight PR 102 at 8:44 pm June 7, 2008 Saturday (Los Angeles time).
He is currently resting at the Pallazo Apartment in La Brea owned by World Boxing Council (WBC) superfeatherweight champion Manny Pacquiao.
He barely missed watching the fight of Ponce De Leon against Juan Manuel Lopez for the WBO super bantamweight championship held in Atlantic City, New Jersey where Lopez prevailed via a sensational TKO at 2:25 of the first round.
Should Concepcion win in similar fashion on July 26, 2008 against a soon to be announced opponent, Top Rank might put him in line as challenger to the newly crowned Puerto Rican Juan Manuel Lopez.
Concepcion will be scheduled in undercard in the much awaited showdown between Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto and Mexican Antonio Margarito dubbed "The Battle" at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bernabe is focused for his upcoming fight and will continue to train at the Wild Card Gym under the watchful eye of world class coach/ trainer Freddie Roach. He will train side by side with Manny Pacquiao as he prepares for his bout against WBC lightweight Champion David Diaz from Chicago on June 28.
