Warriors throw Poole Party at home, beat Chicago, 119-111, and that’s no bull! By Emmanuel Rivera, RRT PhilBoxing.com Sun, 04 Dec 2022 December 3, 2022 Chase Center, California The accidental traveling salesmen of hoops are back (home) with a vengeance. On Friday night, Golden State bounced back from their razor thin loss to the Mavericks- who snapped their 3-game win streak- in Dallas last Wednesday, and beat a young and eager Bulls team, 119-111 at Chase Center. Jordan Poole Poole led the charge with his game-high 30 points on 11-of-18 shooting (1 assist, 1 steal and 1 rebound) in only 23 minutes of play time. Poole threw a splash party and sniped 7 treys. Everyone with a Warriors uniform scored tonight; respectively, Thompson dropped 26 points as did Curry for 19, Green 13, Andrew Wiggins 12, Kevon Looney 7, Donte DiVincenzo 5, Anthony Lamb 4, Jamychal Green 2, Jonathan Kuminga 1. The Warriors led by as much as 19 points; however, the Bulls’ Alex Caruzo and DeMar DeRozan helped the Bulls whittle the deficit to one point, late in the fourth quarter. The Bulls were in hot pursuit all night and came within a point, 109-110 with 2:27 left thanks to a Zach LaVine 27-foot three point jumper. Green quickly retaliated from deep and in transition. Draymond Green is relishing his leadership role during non-Curry-Thompson minutes. Green punched in a near triple-double with 13 points, 10 assists, 9 rebounds with 2 blocks in 36 minutes of play. Off the bench, Poole shone and helped the Warriors shut the door on the Bulls. It was Poole’s third 30+ point-game this season, It was an entertaining game with the Warriors shooting 42 of 87 baskets (48.3% FG) and sniped 20 of 50 from afar (40% 3-PT). As a team Chicago made 43 of 93 baskets (46.2% FG) and sank 9 of 27 treys (33.3% 3-PT). The Warriors have notched nine straight wins at home and can extend their home winning streak against visiting Houston Rockets led by rising Filipino-American Jalen Green on the second installment of a back-to-back this coming Saturday night. It was again nice to hear the booming baritone of GSW’s energizing public announcer and de facto Warriors commander-of-cheer and Filipino-American Franco Finn who rattled the Chase Center from the floor to the rafters…where I was. Stats: Upcoming: Golden State Warriors: Host the Houston Rockets on Saturday night. Chicago Bulls: Visit Sacramento Kings on Sunday to cap a six-city road trip.
