IIEE Zambasulta captures last seats in the IIEE Golden Chess and other sports By Marlon Bernardino PhilBoxing.com Sat, 16 Aug 2025 The IIEE Zambasulta Chapter had completed the qualifier for the IIEE Golden Sports on shooting, Chess and 3x3 Basketball to be held on September 13, 2025 at Koten, Pasay City. Zambasulta will represent IIEE Western Mindanao Region (WMR) after winning the events last August 10, 2025 held at La Guerta Adventure Park in Zamboanga Del Sur which is in conjunction with the 65th Birthday celebration of Samuel Julio, Former IIEE Governor of WMR who is champ in the Gun shootfest competition with FPres Mark Antony Sebastian and Erra Fritz Flores-Tan taking 2nd and 3rd respectively. In chess, former President Alex Acosta and Joseph Maquindang bested other chapters player while the basketball team compose of Emmanuel Reyes, Aldan Sindayen, John Marloe Parot and Vic Calisang were the Champions. In Chess, Zambasulta joined the Visayas-Mindanao inter-Island qualifiers with Cagayan de Oro (Northern Mindanao), Davao (Southern Mindanao), Capiz (Western Visayas) and Cebu (Eastern Central Visayas). The Luzon inter-island is composed of Metro Central (Metro Manila), Batangas (Southern Luzon), Bulacan (Central Luzon), Baguio-Benguet (Northern Luzon) and Camarines (Bicol Region). In 3x3 Basketball, Zambasulta joined the Visayas-Mindanao inter-Island qualifiers with Cagayan de Oro (Northern Mindanao), Kidapawan (Southern Mindanao), Negros Occidental (Western Visayas) and Bohol (Eastern Central Visayas). The Luzon inter-island is composed of Metro West (Metro Manila), Northern Batangas (Southern Luzon), Bulacan (Central Luzon), Ilocos Norte (Northern Luzon) and Camarines (Bicol Region). The top 2 teams in each inter-island qualifier for chess and basketball will advance in the final together with team from Saudi (Foreign Region) to be held on same day, September 13.
