Garde is now with DUKC PhilBoxing.com Wed, 16 Nov 2022  BOXER Richard Garde from Pres Roxas, North Cotabato is now with the Davao Ultimate Knockout Challenge (DUKC) Promotion of Davao City. The 25-year-old Garde is now handled by Alfie Angelo Jonsay, who also owns the Elorde Davao Gym in Matina. Garde will be fighting veteran Ryan Makiputin of Valencia, Bukidnon for the main event of “The Battle 2” on November 26 at 3 p.m. at Elorde Davao Gym. It is the third presentation of DUKC Promotion in cooperation with the Mindanao Professional Ring Officials Association (MinPROA) and the Games and Amusements Board (GAB). Garde, who is formerly handled by Nonoy Neri of MP Davao Gym, has a record of three wins with two knockouts against one loss. Garde won his three fights before he suffered his first loss to Reben Pronco of Bukidnon by a unanimous decision last August 9, 2022 in Malaybalay City after the pandemic. He debuted by stopping JR Cubillan in the 3rd round on April 7, 2019 in Baliok, Davao. Garde then scored a first round knockout against Reben Ramayan of Bukidnon on June 28, 2019 in Maco. He then outpunched Rio Gulipatan by a unanimous decision on December 15 at Robinson’s Mall in General Santos City. Garde did not box for two years, 2021 to 2021 because of the pandemic. Garde is now training at Elorde Davao Gym and sometimes at the Blackhawk Gym. He is now staying in Davao City and works with the Blackhawk Gym as a coach. “I’m happy that I was given the opportunity to be the main event,” said Garde. Garde said that he will do everything to make everybody watching the fight happy. His elder brother Arnold “Destroyer” Garde, who is a flyweight, recently lost to Orlie Silvestre for the Philippine light flyweight title last February 6, 2022 in Digos City. Garde said that “Makiputin is a veteran and a good boxer.” The 32-year-old Makiputin (13W-20L-2D, 4KOs) recently made a comeback with a loss to Joey Canoy by a 4tn round by a TKO last August 24, 2022 in Gensan.  |
