Yutthana, McDelon Make Weight for ABF War Saturday in Bangkok, Thailand By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Fri, 04 Nov 2022  BANGKOK, Thailand -- Former world-title challenger Yuttana "Stamp" Kaensa (23-4, 10 KO's) of Thailand and well-trained Malaysian challenger Daeloniel McDelon successfully made weight ahead of their 8-rounder clash for the vacant ABF Continental Bantamweight Strap Saturday, November 5, at the flashy SpacePlus Night Club, RCA Plaza in Bangkok, Thailand. Both young men, Yutthana, 24, and McDelon, 23, looked relaxed and in fantastic shape, passing with flying colors the medical check of Dr. Jirasak Bubpachart, then defeating the digital scale in their first attempt, finally, posing for the battery of sport reporters in attendance. Yutthana Kaensa (a.k.a. "Stamp"), who in 2016 battled for the world title against then Japanese flyweight world king Kazuto Ioka (29-2, 15 KO's) in Japan, losing by TKO in seven rounds, presses on his boxing career, aiming at a thrilling win over McDelon in an attempt to regain ground in his new weight-class, the bantamweights. On his side, the Malaysian "Kilat Boy" Daeloniel McDelon (4-2, 2 KO's) from beautiful Sarawak in the northwest of Borneo Island, climbs the hot square ring at the SpacePlus Night Club, focused on decisively scalping Yutthana to further advance his young boxing career after a riveting round 3 knockout win last June in Gilgit, Pakistan.  The brave Malaysian McDelon is assisted in his corner by veteran Filipino coach former world champion Joemarie Gamboa of Mandaue, Cebu, by Pinoy man of boxing Brico Santig of Benguet and by Thai coach Supanat Chamram of the Highland Boxing Team. Will the far more-experienced Yutthana, a man still hungry for glory, easily deal with McDelon, dominating him in their main event war, live in the Kingdom of Thailand on WorkPoint Channel 23? Or will the well-mannered young Malaysian fighter shock and rock the Thai Yutthana with thunderous speed and accuracy, controlling him in every way, repeatedly landing on him with authority, beating him to the punch, scoring a unanimous decision win, even with all judges and the referee from Thailand? Or perhaps scoring a KO on the Thai champ... what do you think? Anything is possible. In the co-feature, Thailand's world-ranked fighter, reigning WBA Asia Flyweight Champion Tanes Ongjunta (11-1, 5 KO's), trades knuckles against total rookie Ayub El Amkari of Morocco in a stay-busy 6-chapter non-title battle at a catchweight of 114 pounds. Tanes Ongjunta is WBA #8 world-ranked Flyweight. But for Ayub, this is the very first time to fight as a boxer. The brave young tall good-looking Moroccan has trained and fought for years as a Muay Thai Combatant here in Thailand as well as in Malaysia, waging war 28 times, his last 10 fights have seen him coming out victorious by way of KO. Not bad. But it is indeed the very first time that he fights a man without using his legs, knees nor elbows. This time only fists. Doesn't this remind you of the time five years ago when Conor McGregor fought Floyd Mayweather? That was the first time that "The Notorious" fought as a boxer; and he wasn't doing it that bad until the superbly skilled Floyd caught him well, not letting him of the hook, stopping him in 10 at the T-Mobile in Vegas. Who could forget that. Will a similar ending happen to Ayub? To me, likely. Because, as we all can reckon, in these kind of fights the boxer in his domain has the advantage, right?
