Filipinos Ador Torres, JV Tuazon Score Victories in Thailand By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Thu, 27 Oct 2022 Ador Torres wins in Bangkok. BANGKOK, Thailand -- In exciting battles, Pinoy fighters Ador Torres and JV Tuazon came out victorious, defeating their respective Thai opponents during the entertaining 8-bout Highland Boxing Promotions show staged Wednesday, October 26, at the luxurious SpacePlus Night Club, RCA Plaza, in "The City of Angels," Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand. Evidencing improvements in technique and power, Filipino southpaw welterweight Ador Torres (5-4-1, 2 KO's), of the Bungto san Santa Magdalena in Sorsogon Province, out-landed, dropped and punished Thai combatant Worraphon Jesadajindawat, 27, of Samut Prakan until veteran Thai referee Munee Limmongkolchaikul waived the fight off for a round 4 TKO win in favor of the well-focused, strong-looking Torres. The stoppage victory marked Torres' first win in the "Land of Smiles," after a setback by points to Thai TL Fighter ABF Super Middleweight Champ Apichit Pimsen (4-1, 1 KO), last month at the very same Bangkok venue. This time, however, Ador Torres came from battle as the winner. Also an MMA warrior, Torres was assisted in his corner by Cebuano coach former world champion Joemarie Gamboa Sr., and by his world-ranked Highland Boxing teammate John Michael Zulueta of Bacolod. "FIGHTING DOC" JV TUAZON EDGES FOE In the same Highland Boxing show, Fil-Am "The Fighting Doc" JV Tuazon (2-4-2, 1 KO), came back to action from a long hiatus in his boxing career to out-maneuver and decision tough Thai Nattapol Attachak in four rounds of leather. Born in Manila, now living and working as a medical doctor in New Jersey, USA, Tuazon outboxed the younger, taller Nattapol, impacting him repeatedly with hard punches from the distance, especially with Tuazon's fave weapon, the overhead right. JV Tuazon's hands are raised in victory against Nattapol Attachak of Thailand. But even after receiving telling hands, the Thai Nattapol came out strong and effective for the fourth and final stanza, retaliating hard on the Pinoy physician who had to dig deep into his fighting arsenal to weather the surprising Thai attack. In the end, tallies were unanimous for JV Tuazon, a practitioner of Muay Thai in his teen years, and an admirer for life of the battling skills of Manny Pacquiao and Gerry Peñalosa.
