Forbes are ?going very well? according to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. In fact they are going so well that over 24,000 seats have been sold according to Schaefer in the maximum capacity 28,500 seat Home Depot Center?s soccer stadium. HBO says the De La Hoya-Forbes bout will headline the inaugural boxing event at the Center and De a Hoya, a Los Angeles native, will fight ?live? on HBO?s flagship boxing series for the first time since 2001. The megastar is scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles together with his trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr on Friday. Mayweather is the father of pound-for-pound No.1, undefeated Floyd ?Prettty Boy? Mayweather Jr who beat De La Hoya by a twelve round split decision last May 5. Schaefer said he knows that Forbes is ?training like never before. He knows that this is his opportunity.? Forbes is being trained by Jeff Mayweather, the brother of Floyd Mayweather Sr. Forbes was quoted by boxing writer Ron Borges as saying he?s been ?thinking of a fight like this since I was a kid.
