PHOTOS: BIVOL UPSETS CANELO WITH UD VICTORY IN LAS VEGAS

Dmitrii Bivol of Tokmak, Kyrgyzstan handed Canelo Alvarez's second career defeat since losing to Floyd Mayweather Jnr in 2013 with a defining performance Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Bivol clearly outboxed the Mexican legend and hold true the adage that a bigger good fighter always defeats the smaller good fighter.
All three judges, Tim Cheatham, Dave Moretti and Steve Weisfeld, had identical scores of 115-113 in favor of Bivol.
Bivol, a 5-1 underdog, has thrown 710 punches to Canelo's 495 according to Compubox. Of these, Bivol landed 152 to Canelo's 84. Bivol also landed more power punches, 106, to Canelo's 74 but Canelo connected more body punches, 43, to Bivol's 15.
Bivol, 31, remains undefeated at 20-0 with 11 wins inside the distance and retained his WBA super world light heavyweight title Canelo, also 31-year-old, dropped to 57-2-2, 39KOS.
